Day 15

Unedited

Edited
I'm getting better at Lightroom. Well...at least I think so. I'm liking how I'm editing - and really that's all that matters!

Removed lots of spots on her forehead and nose
Lightened skin using the brush and dodge lighten (forehead)
Changed the saturation to lighten a little more and blend in forehead
Softened skin
Saturation in dress
Clarity in dress
Saturation in grass
Clarity in grass
Clarity in hair and eyelashes
Smoothing of skin with noise reduction

Day 13

Almost walking...and watching her brother and sister down below playing in the sand. I edited this one a lot. Charlotte had some scratches on her face, she was red and blotchy and the lighting messed up the colors a bit. The third picture I added my favorite preset in Lightroom called Bleach Bypass. I love the old school, sepia-ish, rockstar-y, film-y look it gives.

Edited and added my favorite (for this week) preset - Bleach Bypass.

Day 12

Nothing like a little taste of dirt. Funny thing is...she kept going back for more. Maybe I'm missing out??!!

Day 11

Working with sun.
I'm loving natural light.
I love how the sun is peeking through the tree as I am taking the shot.

Day 9

Lightroom practice. I've been watching videos. I will never be a professional, but I am having fun. It's funny how subjective photo editing really is.

We're back to one of my favorites of Lil. I just changed up the background a little bit. Just practicing.

Okay - so I'm confused. On my Mac - the colors are soooooooooo much different (and I like them here) than when I pull up the exact same blog and edited pictures on my HP. Which one is correct?

Anyone?

Day 7

This is an old picture. I took this at my first camera class in February. We were learning how to:
1. Use natural light
2. Open the front door
3. Have the subject turn slightly to get some sun "shine"
4. Adjust F# to get some blurriness in the background.
5. Oh - and I like how the sun glare only shows on half of the face - but, if I had wanted I know that I could have used a flash to get rid of the shadow on the face. Or, have her turn her face a little more. I like the naturalness.....but art is subjective and not every will like that.

This picture really shows me that it doesn't really matter what is behind the subject - its just color and shapes. It could be picture frames, doorways, walls, or even toys - as long as the light is good and your settings are adjusted - it will turn out great. Well...that and your subject is cooperating.
